Karel Cerny, Oscar winning art director for Amadeus, has died aged 92.

Karel Cerny, who won the Best Art Direction Oscar in 1985 for Amadeus, has died aged 92 at his residence in Tabor. 
He shared the award with Patrizia von Brandenstein (who was the first female recipient of the award).

He was also Art Director on Milos Forman’s ‘The Firemen’s Ball’ (1967), and ‘Black Peter‘ (1964).
In 2013, he was the recipient of the Czech Lion Lifetime Achievement Award.
