‘Good news, you just died on TV over here’

Jeffrey Voorhees was 12 years old when he shot his only scene in JAWS (1975).
He played Alex Kintner, the kid who takes his inflatable raft out for a swim and never comes back.
His death is the first to be witnessed by Chief Brody, and as such, propels the storyline.   His mother, later learning Chief Brody was aware of a shark on the loose, slaps him.

Since 1975, Voorhees has been inundated with ‘JAWS fanatics’ wanting to know every story about filming the movie.
In his first Australian interview ever, he talks about filming the scene, meeting Robert Shaw, royalty cheques and dealing with the constant 35+ years of film fanatics.
