Are you aware that an episode of the famous TV Series ‘The Twilight Zone’ won an Academy Award ?
‘An Occurrence at Owl Creek’ – filmed in 1962 by Robert Enrico as a short film, won the Cannes Film Festival Best Short Subject Award in that year.

Having seen the film ,  ‘Twilight Zone’ producer William Froug purchased it for syndication only twice , on American television.
The first television screening was in Season 5 , Episode 142 (Feb 28 1964) of ‘The Twilight Zone’.

The following year, the film was nominated for the 1963 Live Action Short Academy Award, and beat out: ‘The Concert’  , ‘The Home-Made Car’ , ‘Six Sided Triangle’ and ‘That’s Me’.
The Oscar went to the producers of the film Paul De Roubaix and Marcel Ichac ( a documentarian himself with an impressive list of creditals)
